There are so many details to consider when planning your wedding. Do you have to invite Great Uncle Bernie? How many gluten-free guests will you have? Can your furry family member walk down the aisle? Kids or no kids allowed? It’s gets totally overwhelming and sometimes you may become a little self-preoccupied!
With this many details, there may be one question you’re overlooking: do you have to feed your wedding professionals?
You’re already paying your wedding pros. Are you expected to pay for them to eat, too? The answer: Absolutely. Don’t be caught off guard by fine print — most pros will actually make note in their contract that a meal must be provided.
Your team of specialists are working all day to make sure your event is spectacular. You certainly don’t want a grumpy photographer, sluggish band or irritable videographer, and let’s face it, nobody works well on an empty stomach!
To encourage your contracted pros to continue giving you and your guests their best, go above and beyond by asking the catering staff to set aside pre-made plates with the dish of their choice. This way, they can graze in their downtime without wondering if the food will disappear before they can spare a moment for a bite.
Where do they eat?
This is up to you. You could allow your dream team to snag a chair at the guest tables, or set aside an area for your pros to sit together. Some venues even have a spare room if you prefer to keep them separated. However, if you want your photographer to continue capturing candid moments, let your pros sit amongst your guests.
Don’t forget your wedding planner! He/she may be too busy during the day to stop for a meal. You’ve assembled a fantastic team of professionals to execute an amazing celebration. This small consideration on your part will add to the team work environment supporting your fabulous day!
