What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?

“Wesley has the best sense of humor. He makes me laugh every day.”

Was the planning process as stressful as you imagined?

“Yes! I am not a planner. Wesley is the one who is great at that, but he wanted to let me make most of the decisions because he knew I had a certain vision in mind. Our wedding was definitely a group effort. I learned that there is no shame in letting people help you do things. My sister and I got married within three months of each other, so we would plan and pick things out together which was really fun.”

Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?

“We had a pretty big wedding with somewhere around 350 guests. We knew the weather in March would be unpredictable, so we had to find somewhere that could seat that many people in case of bad weather. Our ‘design inspiration’ took a backseat to what was realistic for our venue. Initially, we wanted traditional seating that would be flipped for dinner, but we ended up just having our guests sit at their tables for both the wedding and reception. It worked out perfectly and was way less stressful to plan. We went for a neutral theme with lots of ivory and champagne. I have always loved the timelessness of neutrals and we didn’t want any crazy color combinations we would regret in the future.”

What was the most memorable moment?

“When we first got engaged in September, we played with the idea of getting married in December. I had always thought it would be so beautiful to have wedding pictures in the snow. We decided three months was too soon and ended up setting a date in March. The temperature was in the seventies all week leading up to our wedding, but Saturday morning when I woke up there was snow on the ground. It was beautiful! Unfortunately it didn’t stick around long enough for many pictures, but we did have another snow-related surprise in store. The barn where we got married actually had a snow machine built into the ceiling. When the preacher presented us as ‘Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Foster’ for the first time, someone flipped the switch and snow started falling from the rafters. It was the sweetest moment.”

Tell us about your grand exit!

“Our videographer wanted to get the perfect shot of us running through the tunnel created by guests blowing bubbles. We ran back and forth three or four times. Each attempt got more and more hilarious as our friends and family were pretending to be super excited. It was a fun way to end the night.”
