Get ready to fall in love guys! Kelsey and Tyler’s downtown Nashville wedding at The Hermitage Hotel is absolutely breathtaking! Totally classic and romantic, who wouldn’t be head over heels for this celebration? Get the behind-the-scenes details from Kelsey herself below!
When did you know you were falling in love?
“After our second date, I knew there was something special about Tyler. Being with him felt easy, as if I had known him my whole life and could share anything and everything with him. I had never connected with someone so quickly and felt so natural and comfortable being with him. He’s the perfect balance to me and encourages me to grow and push myself in various ways. He’s my best friend, the person with whom I never tire of spending time, he always makes me laugh, always looks after me, and is the first I want to tell all the little details and happenings of my life.”
Was the planning process as stressful as you imagined?
“Luckily, it was nowhere near as stressful as other experiences I have heard. I had an amazing planning team. Even the day of the wedding was planned so smoothly and without a hitch that I just felt I had to show up.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“I wanted a timeless, elegant, European style wedding that still felt relaxed, romantic, and comfortable to let loose and have fun.”
What was the most memorable moment?
“Our grand entrance. After the ceremony, guests went to cocktail hour in the beautiful lobby of the hotel. About halfway through, we were announced from a large balcony overlooking all of our guests below in the lobby. Not only did it feel like a royal moment like Prince William and Princess Kate, but it was so exciting to be able to see from one vantage point all of the people we loved in one room cheering for us.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“‘Tenerife Sea’ by Ed Sheeran. We like Ed Sheeran and just heard this song and instantly knew it was for us.”
What traditions did you incorporate?
“Being part Polish, all weddings I went to growing up had a dollar dance. Essentially, the bride and groom are split up and everyone has to pay to dance with them. However, the fun is it becomes a competition to see who can get the most money given to them. Somehow the bride always wins. At the end, the bride and groom get to keep the money as an extra gift.”
What would you recommend to every bride-to-be?
“It may not always be easy, but slow down and enjoy the process. Enjoy this stage of your life, the fun that comes from being engaged, and just the fact that you get to spend the rest of your life with your best friend. All the little details that you are stressing over in the long run won’t be remembered. What will be remembered is the time spent with all your loved ones in the same room celebrating your love. Those memories and the joy that comes from that are worth way more than the color of the flowers, invitation layout, and whatever else.”
