If there is ever an opportunity to have brunch, that opportunity must be seized. So why not turn the bridal shower you’re planning into a bridal brunch?? Yes, you read that right. Bridal. Brunch. Can you imagine anything more wonderful? So gather all the guests and pour yourself a mimosa, because it’s time to plan the perfect bridal shower!
Step 1: Choose Your Location
Just like in real estate, when it comes to weddings, location is everything! That includes the location of your wedding shower, so choose carefully! The ideal location for a bridal brunch completely depends on the bride’s personality, your needs for space, and other details like that. The bride might prefer the privacy of a friend or family member’s elegantly decorated patio, where you can all talk and laugh as loud as you want! Or maybe she’s more the type to go for a delicious crepe (or two) from that fancy French restaurant downtown. Once you’ve decided on a location and gotten permission to host your shower there, it’s time for the next step!
Step 2: Send Your Invites
Invitations are important for any bridal shower, and a bridal brunch is no different! An invitation should be two things: informative and neat. No matter the style or theme of your invite, it needs to be clearly legible and have all the information the guests will need: time, location, and what to bring (if anything). If your brunch is potluck style, make sure the invitation states how to get in touch with you so they can sign up for an item to bring. Planning is everything, and your invite is one of the most important tools to keeping everyone in the know and organized!
Step 3: Create Your Menu
Skip this step if you’re having your brunch catered or at a restaurant, but if you’re creating your own meal then read ahead! You want to be sure that your brunch has something for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you should be taking everyone’s order for their all-time favorite breakfast and trying to create that. Instead, focus on including the basics: fruits, meats, and starches. A waffle bar with a charcuterie board and a fruit arrangement is a great example and allows people to mix and match for the perfect meal!
Step 4: Don’t Forget the Booze!
Anyone will tell you, the key to a successful brunch is a good drink! Mimosas are the classic brunch drink, but feel free to change it up if you know the bride would prefer something different. To really take it to the next level, consider creating a super special signature brunch cocktail and give it a clever name! It shows just how much time and effort you put into making this brunch as perfect as possible for your dear friend.
Step 5: Let the Party Flow
You’ve planned, organized, cooked, and mixed all you can. Now it’s time to enjoy the party and bask in how happy you’ve made the bride! A good tip is to let the party flow naturally. Prepare some games for your group to enjoy, but try to avoid interrupting good conversation to try to force a game. Take a seat, have a drink and a waffle, and enjoy yourself! Try to relax as much as possible, because before you know it the biggest day of your bridesmaid career will be here: the wedding!
