Lauren and George’s beautiful minimalistic wedding captured by Tara Kneiser Photography is the stuff dreams are made of! This couple’s simplistic, Southern wedding mirrored many elements of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette’s wedding, and we are loving it! Lauren and George gave us all the details below!
How would you describe your big day in 3 words?
“Elegant, southern, joyous” -George
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
“His loyalty and honesty.” -Lauren
“Her ability to find love and joy in anything and everyone.” -George
When did you know you were falling in love?
“I met Lauren in the Fall of 2011 in NYC, where we both live. In January of 2012, Lauren took a job in Southern California and I realized that she really was the one and she loved me unconditionally.” -George
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette – I loved how they got married in the simple, white chapel and found that in the Primitive Baptist Chapel in Cade’s Cove. We picked a reception at Blackberry Farm as we both love good food and good wine.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
Make You Feel My Love – Garth Brooks. I’m a big country music lover and George likes Adele!
What traditions did you incorporate?
“Something Old – Great Grandma’s Earrings; Something New – Diamond Pendant from my mother; Something Borrowed – Diamond Bracelet from George’s college buddy’s wife’s jewelry line (Manju Jasty); Something Blue – George wore my favorite blue suit.”
What was the most memorable moment?
“Our First Look! Having those few minutes to ourselves was really special – we had a moment to really feel the happiness of the day that was about to unfold.”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“We decided not to have a “grand exit”…but we hopped in our golf cart, me, George and Bonnie. It was a full moon night which lit up Blackberry Farm and in the background you could hear the song of a whip-poor-will. It was a perfect way to end our night.” -Lauren
Congratulations Lauren and George! We wish you the very best!
