If you adore all things bohemian, bright florals, exotic locales, and sweet love, you’ll be head over heels for these nuptials in Hawaii! Olivia and Alex’s beautiful day was filled with a 70s bohemian vibe and stunning local island details for a truly inspiring celebration! Check it all out below with behind-the-scenes commentary from the couple and photos by Tara Kneiser Photography to transport yourself to the island of love!
How did you meet?
“We met through mutual friends and instantly hit it off!”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“Love at first sight!”
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
Olivia: “My favorite quality about my husband is his sweet demeanor and passion for life.”
Alex: “My favorite quality about my wife is her kind and loving spirit.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“Vintage, 70’s inspired, bohemian.”
How about your dress or attire?
“70’s vintage & comfortable.”
What traditions did you incorporate?
“We kept our traditions pretty traditional. Two of my favorite were to wait to see one another until I was walking down the aisle and having a private communion.”
What was the most memorable moment?
Olivia: “The most memorable moment for me was peaking through the trees just before walking down the aisle and seeing Alex waiting for me, he totally caught me so this was his first glimpse of me as well! I couldn’t wait to get to him!”
Alex: “We wrote our own vows, so reading them so one another was a moment I’ll always remember.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“Our first dance was ‘Into the Mystic’ by Van Morrison. It’s always been a special song to us and a couple of years ago we got to see Van himself live!”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“Well, our grand exit was a bit of a flop, we had LED helium balloons and no one tied strings to them so all our guest just sort of shook them at us. But it made for a fun memory and cool photos. Then we jumped in a Jeep Wrangler decorated with strings and beer cans and drove off as Mr. and Mrs.”
Congratulations Olivia & Alex!
