Living coral. Hearing that, all I can picture is a tropical destination and me at my happiest! Who’s with me?! However, being in the wedding industry will make me take a quick second thought right after for Pantone’s Color of the Year. In case you missed it, Pantone releases their chosen color each year (see the regal Ultra-Violet for 2018 and gorgeous Greenery for 2017 for a little recap) Pretty soon after the announcement, you start seeing it in numerous styled shoots and real weddings, and I have no doubt that living coral will be just as popular! Even though, we have seen the color dominate weddings in years past, this new coral with warm undertones can give a whole new meaning for a vibrant color palette.
Happy & Bright
Pantone categorizes the color as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” Personally, I agree 100%! This color excites your senses, but also doesn’t overwhelm them at the same time. This is a color that could brighten your wedding day without taking away from your other beautiful details. Whether you incorporate it in small doses or go head-to-toe in living coral, we’re here for it.
Perfect for Spring & Summer
Mixed with white and serene greenery, this color is wonderful for spring and summer nuptials! When paired with neutrals like cream, gray, white, and tan this color can really be tied in quite beautifully, or mix it with another bold like green or navy for a show stopping color palette! However, I feel a little bias toward a combination of both using white and green for a totally natural feel with pops of gold for a little glam! The best thing about this color palette is that it transcends multiple styles. Destination wedding? Living coral. Boho chic wedding? Living coral. Glam wedding downtown? Living coral. You get the idea. I can’t wait to see all of the weddings featuring this gorgeous color! In the meantime, I guess I’ll have to settle for daydreaming of that tropical destination from my first thought!
